As one of the original founders of the San Gabriel/Pomona Valleys Foundation, for the Developmentally Disabled, Inc., Mr. Richard Davis dedicated  21 years of his expertise to the board. He played a major role in the development of the annual golf event. Through the years, Mr. Davis outreached to others in the community to make the event a bigger success from year to year, until his death in 2008.

On October 6, 2008, the Foundation Board dedicated the 20th Anniversary of the Golf Scramble, in memory of Richard D. Davis.  

In honor of Mr. Davis, the Board changed the name of the Foundation from the San Gabriel/Pomona Valleys Foundation to the Richard D. Davis Foundation. Mr. Davis was considered to be a remarkable individual and a great inspiration to those he came in contact with.  His continuous contributions to assist individuals with developmental disabilities and our community as a whole, will never be forgotten.
